25 Apr Non-Bitchy Beauty: Be Pretty, Not Petty

Hi! Welcome to Non-Bitchy Beauty, a website dedicated to skin care and beauty products, procedures, and treatments — minus the bitchy or judgmental attitude. Don’t get me wrong, we’re going to have fun and you’ll be thoroughly entertained, just not at anyone’s expense. Actually, maybe mine. So not at anyone else’s expense. This is a judgment and shame-free zone. Haters to the left.

I’ll cover the best skin care and beauty products, and by that, I mean the actual best. I am a skin care nerd supreme so I do thorough research on all the products I recommend and I try them out myself. If it doesn’t work and the science isn’t there, I won’t be recommending it. I’ll also bring you everything you need to know about other skin care remedies like Botox, fillers, spa treatments, and every type of skin rejuvenation method under the sun. And SPF. Oh dear God, will I be harping about SPF.

It has always irked me that more invasive procedures like injectables, lasers, and the like are typically ignored by the mainstream media. And if they do get covered they’re usually written about with a tone that insinuates there’s something wrong or taboo about them. When plastic surgery or intensive treatments do get covered it’s usually not helpful or educational in any way to someone seeking out facts and information.

It seems like 95% of the stories published about plastic surgery and injections have to do with shaming a celebrity for their supposed “botched” face or they use a click bait headline that asks readers, “Did she or didn’t she?” accompanied with side by side photos of a public figure who, just like every human being, wants to look good and feel confident. Attacking someone for doing something that makes them feel happy and more comfortable in their own skin isn’t a pretty look. I will not be doing that here. I know plenty of people are curious about these topics but there’s a major lack of well-researched stories about them in the beauty world. So how’s a person supposed to get the facts in order to make an informed decision about what’s right for them? Enter Non-Bitchy Beauty.

I’ll be the first one to tell you I get Botox and fillers. I’ve also had a nose job! Aint no shame! If there’s a new way to poke and prod at my face in the name of skin care, I’m always happy to be a guinea pig. I’ve gotten Fraxel, tried a PRP Facial (they take blood from your arm and microneedle it into your face), and almost everything in between. Sure, I do these things so I can write informative stories, but let’s be real — they all benefit me in that they make me feel better about myself.

A lot of stories about treatments and skin care have to do with anti-aging. I’ll definitely cover that topic because I will not be “aging gracefully”. No, I’m going down kicking and screaming, and there’s nothing wrong with that. There’s also nothing wrong with aging naturally and not giving a f*ck. I’ll also cover the insane amount of options out there for people suffering from rosacea, acne, scarring, pigmentation, sun damage, red and brown spots, broken capillaries — the list goes on and on. There are tons of different skin care concerns but luckily there are also tons of different solutions. It’s my goal to write about the remedies you’re looking for without even the slightest hint of bitch.

Non-Bitchy Beauty was created to educate you and give you all the information you need to feel happy and confident in your skin.
